Perspective on the New Middle School

By Mark DeBlasio

The Seven Hills School — The new Seven Hills Middle School opened last week, and the students are very excited about it. Gone are the days of construction and learning in trailers. The new middle school offers students a new, exciting environment in which to learn. I attended the Seven Hills Middle School for all three years, so I decided that I would go and check it out for myself.

The first thing I noticed about the new school when I walked in was how clean it was! The old middle school was nice and cozy, but it had gotten to feel a little bit musty by the end of its life. Hopefully, the students will be able to keep their new middle school clean! Another thing I noticed was the areas students could use to work in, right outside of the classrooms. This is nice for when teachers ask students to work in the hallway because now they will not have to work on the floors. In addition to all the new improvements, one nice touch that was kept from the old middle school is the ramp. I remember when I was in middle school, I loved walking down the ramp to classes, and I’m glad that the new generation of middle schoolers will also be able to experience it.

To be completely honest, I’m quite jealous that the new middle schoolers get to experience learning in the new building! It is so spacious and has such beautiful architecture. Despite my jealousy, I am glad that the new middle schoolers will get to enjoy this great space!
